EBONI Alumni & Student Event
Dear EBONI Alum,
For nearly 45 years EBONI has been a beacon of hope for Emerson
College's students of color. EBONI has served as a community for
students of color to fight racial injustice, celebrate their black
heritage, call for greater diversity on Emerson's campus, and most
importantly, provide a support system for its members.

|With that in mind, the EBONI executive board for the upcoming 2013-2014
school year have three goals to continue advancing the role of EBONI
within the Emerson community.
1. We will begin a mentoring program between EBONI Alumni and current
members in order to support the professional and character growth of our
members. Additionally, we see the mentoring program as a way to grow
the EBONI community into a family as all generations of EBONI members
will be able to form both deep and long lasting interpersonal
2. Continue to keep the issue of diversity at the forefront of the
Emerson community's mind as racial, gender, and class disparities are
increasingly intertwined on our campus.
3. Host a series of professional events from a local small business
series to a trip to another city in order to expose our members to the
varying career paths, make connections early, and engage with alums in
However, in order to achieve these goals we need your help. Please join us on Friday, October 25th at 6pm. We have a very exciting evening planned with a professional panel presentation moderated by Pam Cross ‘75,
news anchor for WCVB. This is also an opportunity to learn more about
the exciting vision we have in place, and will include a reception with
students, the alumni association board of directors, and key members of
the EBONI Alumni Association.
We are also looking for alumni who are interested in being mentors,
willing to help us in our year-long efforts to address issues of
diversity, and are willing to meet with us in a professional capacity
whether it be on campus or your home city. If this is you, please
contact the Director of Alumni Relations, Mary Ann Cicala (email@example.com or 617-824-8273). I hope we hear from you.
