The ways people produce and consume news are changing rapidly and profoundly. Emerson is leading the way in preparing journalists for this new world. In this panel, you’ll have a chance to interact with faculty developing innovative journalistic programming including ConnectKit for mobile journalism, data visualization, and immersive multitouch books.

Election 2016 Special, Room 233
It’s an election year like no other–a national, moving laboratory for understanding how communication and news shape the US political landscape. On this panel we’ll explore the impact of the presidential debates, learn how the Emerson Polling Society has outpolled all other firms, and unpack the growing prominence of social media in influencing voter behavior. A little bit about our panelists: Carole is an Emmy Award winner who was also the first woman to moderate a presidential debate. Iris has worked in almost every presidential campaign since she graduated and worked with Hillary Clinton in the White House while she was First Lady. Spencer has been hailed as the most accurate pollster in the nation.

The first part of the session will feature an overview of your alumni career resources, followed by "Resume Rundowns," where we will give you a 15-minute critique of your personal resume.

This program is for alumni of Emerson College to learn more about the college admissions selection process in a structured, yet relaxed way. This class will offer a primer on estate planning: defining essential components of an estate plan, why everyone needs one, and the consequences of not having one in place. The session will also include a quick, user-friendly explanation of the transfer tax system and will highlight the basic components of an estate plan and key considerations when putting a plan in place to achieve your intended objectives.
